Director of Move to Learn (EU)

Overview

Move to Learn (EU) is a 5 hour online, interactive programme provided by Mary Mountstephen MA (RES) (MA (SEN) , an international learning development specialist and former primary headteacher.

The programme provides participants with an introduction to a neurodevelopmental delay approach to working with primitive reflexes and an understanding of how these impact on later cognitive, motor and sensory development and academic achievement. The supporting evidence base includes research from international academic sources, case studies and conference presentations.

How is the course delivered?

  • We use Zoom for 3-4 sessions sharing video clips, presentations and, in addition, there is a supporting manual and access to assessment protocols that support you in monitoring and evaluating progress. The programme provides the participant with the structure and content to work with children 1:1 or in small groups. The content is adapted to meet the needs of participants from a wide range of backgrounds.and a reading list is included to support full understanding.

What does it cover?

  1. Early childhood cognitive and motor development

  2. The role of primitive and postural reflexes

  3. The developmental sequence of exercises and links to observations of performancein the early years setting, home setting and classroom

  4. Screening, assessment and monitoring protocols

  5. The concept of neurodiversity and implications for implementing the programme effectively.

  6. Certification process and further training.

Is the course certified?

  • The online course is 5 hours in direct contact, plus assignments to be completed as a requirement for successful completion and accreditation.

  • The learner can be expected to spend up to 20 hours in preparation, study and other forms of preparation, engaging in reflective activities and video preparation. The amount of time will be dependent on their previous level of learning.

  • The course leads to the qualification of Certification in Move to Learn (EU)

  • This certification does not qualify or permit the candidate to train others in the programme.

How much is the fee?

  • The fee is currently £250. This includes all reference materials and the certification process.

  • The fee also encourages you to invite a friend/ colleague, who can attend as your guest at no extra charge. We find this is a good way of working and learning.
